February 2021 Farm tour and diy seed starting mix

In this video I take you on a mini tour of the farm in February and also show you how I create my own seed starting mix.

This year’s recipe (as in video due to local garden center running out of organic compost)

  • 3 cu. ft. of Sheep, Peat, and Compost (by Richlawn)
  • 10 qt. Perlite
  • 10 qt. Vermiculite

My regular recipe:

  • 1.5 cu. ft. of Organic Compost
  • 1.5 cu. ft. of Coco Coir (or Peat Moss)
  • 10 qt. Perlite
  • 10 qt Vermiculite
  • 1.5 cups 4-4-4 fertilizer

This amount of mix will usually last me at least one season of seed starting in my current grow room space. Eventually, I am aim to build a greenhouse in order to expand my seed starting and transplanting capabilities.
